This was an absolute joy, as are all Redwall books. Definitely listen to the audiobook narrated by the author + full cast, if you can.

It took me a while to get into this book, to be honest (although, I think I’ve read it before). And I struggle a bit with who the target audience is meant to be. It feels like an older children’s (pre-teen/young teen) but some of the phonetic language of certain creatures is hard to navigate, which might be off-putting for such an audience.

The plot line was fairly predictable, although still enjoyable to read. Overall, I’d say it was worth the read but it won’t be one I recommend widely.
