About 2.5 stars. I don’t know, I didn’t feel much of a connection to any of the characters, and I didn’t think most of them were acting very realistic. First the bungee jumping “accident,” immediately followed by a “suicide” of a man who wanted to talk to Georgia about something private? Her dad should’ve been right there by her side instead of going out on dates. Her BFF, whose name escapes me, should’ve been more worried as well, instead of being interested in Ty, one of the men who was supposed to be there for Georgia.

I did like Scott and Edward’s characters, two of the bachelors competing for Georgia. Georgia was all right - I liked that she was a former cop, and she could take care of herself.

I really wish I could give half stars here on Goodreads, because really I felt like this book merited 3.5 stars. I didn't quite like it enough to give it 4 stars, but I liked it a bit more than my normal "3 star" books.

I thought the main character was a bit whiny at first, but she grew on me and by the end I even sort of liked her. The plot was somewhat original (in that I've seen reality show plots before but not a *dating* reality show). While it wasn't a page-turner for me, it did keep me entertained and I didn't feel like I was "forcing" myself to finish it. All in all, it was an enjoyable read and I'll try at least one more in the series before I really make up my mind on whether or not I want to read the whole series.

First Date With Death is a new-to-me cozy. The theme is “love or money”. The book is based on filming one of those reality romance shows ala The Bachelor with a twist. Our protagonist, Georgia, was left at the altar and then lost her job on the police force. She is getting pretty desperate for money and joins as a contestant on the show with a chance at a sizeable prize. The idea behind the show is that some of the men are on it for love and some for money and she needs to figure out the ones in it for money and eliminate them. Of course, one of the eligible bachelors ends up dead and then the fun…sleuthing begins. Georgia is a great character, the plot is paced really well so the book flows by quickly, and the whole concept is fun to read about. I really loved this cozy and read it in one sitting. My only concern is how the series will continue. I don’t suppose Georgia will keep being on dating shows repeatedly so I’m not sure where the author plans on going with the series, but I am really looking forward to finding out.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette this is the cozy for you. It has an added twist, not all the contestants are searching for love, half of them are trying to win money. Things start to go wrong on the very first date and one of the suitors is killed. Not everyone believes it was an accident and that brings Georgia’s former love to the show, he is a cop and he is going undercover. Then another bachelor dies and and reality television gets even more real as the show must go on. Georgia doesn’t know who to trust but she knows she must find the killer before the final glass of champagne is poured.

I loved this story and I am really interested in seeing how the author continues this series. Georgia was the bachelorette and her turn on Love or Money is complete. I really liked her spunk. She is smart and courageous enough to put herself on national television to find love and track down a killer too.

This story flows really well. The characters are fleshed out and easy to picture and get to know. I found myself rooting for more than one of the bachelors and not only following the clues to find out the killer but who was in it for love and who was in it just for the money.

I really enjoy where Diana Orgain takes us in this story. Not your typical theme for a cozy mystery, it is new and fresh and a lot of fun to read. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment to see where she takes us next.

I stumbled onto this series because I really enjoyed the narrator. She brought another book i recently listened to to life and I was impressed.

The story ismore a cozy mystery than a romance novel, even though its included in the audible escape bundle (free romantic books through a membership)

Georgia in a moment of weakness gets talked into being a bachelorette on a game show where she has to figure out who is there for money and who wants to find a relationship. A man dies on her first date due to tampered with bungee cord....yes its kind of gruesome. Everybody writes it off as an accident. Another man dies found hanging in her dressing room.

Add in that one of the bachelors is her former fiancee, the man who left her at the alter, and there is some fun reality show drama. The conclusion made sense when it was all said and done. I eventually listened to the whole series.

Can't say how much i really enjoy Eva Kaminsky as a narrator

I haven't finished a book I disliked this much in ages. It helped that only 86% of the file is this novel. The rest is a preview of the next one, which I am happy to ignore.

I finished reading it because the prose isn't awful and most of the characters aren't awful. But man, Georgia is a total ditz for someone who was supposed to be a police officer. (At least, I hope her leaping to wild conclusions on zero evidence is contraindicated for a cop.) All she had going for her is beauty and loyalty to her best friend. Had she been made smarter, quicker to pick up, you know, facts, this would have been good. The trust issues, her physical reactions to the men, and the murders were done well. Her dad was shallow, to me, and poorly used by the author. There isn't much justification for the murderer, which is dumb in a murder mystery. I liked who she ends up with, but he really should be pissed at her for leaping to conclusions about him.

It's just not very good.
