So this is three books in one (as the title says) so my rating is skewed because I'm forced to judge them as a whole. Over all the books follow as romance blooms amongst the students of Compass Court, an English boarding school. The first book I greatly enjoyed and would actually rate that one a 5 on it's own. I really enjoyed the school player finding someone willing to play him at his game and get knocked down a peg as love develops. Book two is an homage to Romeo and Juliet as two teenagers find love in the one person their parents have made them swear to avoid. I probably would have rated this a four or a five. Book three is the largest of the stories and the one I liked least. It tells the tales of three budding romances, at least. The author put them in one story, I am sure, because not all of them end as expected and because they all happen to fall during the same time period, the Year Six play. I feel that these stories would have been improved upon by being separated. As it was, the reader does not get enough of any of the characters to really feel any kind of bond with them or even to understand why they are interested in certain other characters.
