There’s just no stopping the freight train of delicious intensity that CD Reiss provokes in this series. The story picks up where Control left off. Monica ended things with Jonathan and they are still separated. Monica has always poured her thoughts and fears into her music but now her songs have made her kinky relationship with Jonathan open for public consumption. She’s feeling the repercussions her actions have caused on her personal life, as well as her budding career. Monica’s career comes first and she’s determined to stay away from Jonathan. Jonathan, however, is steadfast in his confidence as he waits for her to fully commit to him.

Kevin is still in the picture, proving just how big a douchebag he truly is. I wanted throttle Monica so many times when it came to her attitude toward Kevin!

The story ends with the mother of all cliffhangers so, of course, I need to read the next book right away. That’s just how CD Reiss rolls.

Of course I can't wait for the next installment. This book left me just like Jonathan left Monica, wanting more. HA! The suspense and sexiness of this book makes me love these characters more each time. I am loving Jonathan, like, I want him for just one day because I can't keep him longer due to the fact that I have a boyfriend. Anyway, Ms. Reiss keep up the great work! Is it August yet?

All of us book lovers have had that moment when you're reading a book and crazy stuff is happening and you're unsure how things are going to go and you're tense, flustered, anxious, on edge and can't put the book down. Yep, that's Burn. Then as it gets closer to the end of the book and things are great and you feel good about how the story is going...BAM! Plot twist!

The Goddess and her King are apart but the longing is off the charts.

There’s a no touching rule in place and it will remain until Monica agrees to commit and be completely his. She’s worried that her singing career is done for because of her connection to him.

Kevin is a dick.

I was begging for the no touching rule to go. Begging for it. I’m as much JD’s as Monica is. He can tie me up and spank me anytime.

Resist is up next, I don’t think I can take any more resisting. My balls are blue.

Review for whole series (not including #.5s).

4 stars.

Yes. It's sexy. Yes. It's a little, shall we say interesting at times with some of the kinks. BUT it is actually good writing. The sexy time is interwoven into the main plot. And yes. There is a plot--a plot worth reading even if the sexy time scenes are not for you. There were times I felt certain subplots or characters were a bit under developed, but the main story and characters had pretty descent depth. I got to know them. I liked them. I rooted for them.

Yes. MC Jonathan is an alpha male billionaire (because we haven't seen that before), but he's not as controlling as we've seen in other novels. And I felt Monica manages to maintain her own sense of self throughout. I do admit there were a couple of actions by J though that I didn't fully believe as part of his character.

Anyway. For those that need a good story and don't mind some sexy time, this is a good read.
