At the very first moments of reading I thought it's just a fictional tale, but by turning pages I found that the story carries an alarming delightful message to the reader, it's about satisfaction and the real beauty (soul's beauty), I love it !

I'd say that this is the best piece of fiction I've ever read. Wilde's witty repartees within his dialogue offer some much needed comic relief in a sullen novel that deals with the difficulties of mortality, the loss of youth, and the amoral nature of an aesthetic lifestyle. The contemporary controversy surrounding this book just adds to its allure. I was utterly gripped throughout, much as Basil was enamoured by the title character.

An easier classic read but the progression to the actual plot took a while and it grew repetitive after the first 10 chapters.

Read it for that aestheticism, to embody that Oscar Wilde drip

The first ever classic I could actually get through and understand what was going on. There were parts I skimmed, especially super long flowery dialogues.
