I was hesitant to read it because the relationship between the octupus and the protagonist sounded strange but I'm glad I did. What a heartwarming story!

The characters felt like I knew them and I rooted for them from the beginning.

I simultaneously wanted to finish this book as fast as I could, and wanted it to go on forever because I loved being submersed in the lives of the people in Sowell Bay. This was an emotional, but wholesome read.

I enjoyed this book. It made me want to learn more about the Pacific Giant Octopus.  Marcellus was my favorite character.  It did drag on in a few places toward the end (frustrating).
