More like 3.5 rounded up to 4. The premise and beginning started off strong, the cat and mouse game draaaagged in the middle, and I surprisingly raced through the last third up until the ending. Overall very mixed feelings. Not surprised they made it into a movie because of all the action happening. And I’m starting to think books with a ton of action like this, while thrilling and suspenseful, just aren’t my thing.

Writing: The writing was very good. Nothing felt forced or drawn out. Everything was described in the right way to put you into the story but not overdone.
Characters: I really liked Darby, which says a lot because I don't normally like female MCs. All the other characters were very well written as well. He did a good job of making us unsure of everyone.
Story: A fantastic concept that was executed brilliantly! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Overall: A very good thriller! Highly recommend!
