This book was gripping and tense. Just enough character development where the book didn’t go on too long. Yes, Darby makes stupid errors, but remember, she’s had little to no sleep and is running off 6 Red Bull’s and crappy coffee. Don’t pretend like you’d be firing on all cylinders. Not to mention she’s no detective. Please tell me what you would’ve done in her shoes. I’ll be waiting

Gripping. One thing after another while the snow keeps piling up and up.

DID NOT FINISH

i spoiled it for myself lol

I don’t really know where to begin, to be honest. It had everything I thought I could want in a thriller: a kidnapped child trapped in a vehicle, a blizzard, 5 strangers. It was pretty obvious who the kidnapper was, so I was pretty disappointed with that. Even WHY the girl was kidnapped was revealed early on. Like what??? The only two reasons why I even bothered finishing this is because 1) it’s a short, fast read, and 2) I bought it so I wanted to get my money’s worth.

Also: none of them are remotely realistic. Come on—a COLLEGE student is able to go toe-to-toe with a psycho in the middle of the blizzard? Really? A lazy college student? I’m fine with just ~vibing~ with the story, but that was WAY too unrealistic for me. What’s also insane is the fact that her iPhone was able to last that long—on 1%. My iPhone dies when I just *look* at it. And don’t get me started on the kidnapper. He was so over-the-top to the point where I was rolling my eyes every time he said something. Please shut up and go to therapy.

Overall, I have pretty complicated feelings about it. On one hand, it was addictive and entertaining. But on the other hand, I found it to be tedious and redundant. If you’re in a reading slump, give this a shot (no pun intended LOL). It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve read this year, but it isn’t memorable for ME. Honestly, I feel like the movie might be better. I feel like it might translate it on TV better. I won’t ever know because I’m not interested enough to watch it.

It’s kind of a ~dark~ book, so definitely check out the trigger warnings.

SPOILER:
Every time Ashley said, “Baby brother,” I wanted to throw myself into traffic. Like that was so icky. Can we also talk about him being super creepy toward Darby? I want to throw up.

This was a great thriller. Kept me guesisng what was going to happen all the way through. Very fast paced.
