This book had me audibly reacting, and there were surprises up until the very end. I know some reviewers said they didn't like that she made dumb mistakes/decisions, but I think anything she did wrong was incredibly realistic for the situation she was in, and she did the best she could under the circumstances, especially while simultaneously being cognizant of how young Jay was (like how she spoke to her) and the trust required between them to survive.

This books puts the gas pedal on the floor in chapter one and absolutely never lets up. Fantastic read. Tense until the very last sentence.

The FMC was dumb as a rock. I skim read the entire middle just to be done with it. Should have DNF’d to be honest.
