University student finds a child locked in a cage in a van at a rest stop during a snowstorm. Cut off from help gotta reduce the kid. Fast paced and each chapter ends on a very deliberate cliff hanger. Twists, but kinda predictable, still fun. Bad guys lose good guys win.

This book is great. Has some twists and turns which I saw coming, but mostly blindsided me. I did make some predictions early on in the story and most had one aspect of the twist correct but rarely all.
Honestly Darby’s sass was a little muted. She could be popping out one liners like the terminator by the end of it.
A fun read that will piss you off but in the end you will feel validated.

Another amazing book by Taylor Adams! This is the second book I’ve read by him and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I love the details and how you feel like you’re in the rest stop with Darby and the others. I liked how you got different POVs and the chapter titles is the time when the events happened.
I almost hated the ending because Taylor is so freaking brilliant and made me think that Darby the main character was dead when she isn’t.
So many great twists and turns even through the epilogue.
I feel like this book could’ve gone on a bit longer and discussed the after math of everything with Ashley’s Uncle and what happened with Jay but that’s just me not wanting the book to end.

Graduje napeti.
Popis vrazd byl docela mazec a i samotne vrazdy a tyrani byly dostatecne krute. I tady se zcasti dostavame do jeho hlavy. Co si mysli a proc dela to co dela.
I tak mi prijde hlavni hrdinka skoro nesmrtelna, protote vzhledem k tem vsem zranenim, ktere utrpela behem tech hodin se doopravdy divim, ze nezemrela nebo se z toho psychicky nezhroutila. Vazne.
I proto mi delalo takovy problem se do toho pribehu naplno vzit. Tohle by horko tezko nekdo vydrzel.
Ale Na Dostrel si urcite prectu.

“What were the odds of stumbling across a kidnapping in progress? While trapped overnight in a snowy rest stop?”
“The easiest lies to tell are the true ones.”
“This is it…I’m going to die here.”
Wow! Talk about a book that is high octane tension throughout! My first Taylor Adams book and it does not disappoint. From the opening pages, I was hooked. Nice twists, even some I thought might happen, are done really well. This book reads like a movie, which would explain why this book was turned into a movie. It is well executed and the pages fly by. And the ending is great. Always nice to discover new authors.

Gripping from start to finish. There will be a movie on this book very soon, I'm sure. Loved it.
