This was beautiful and haunting and told clearly but still gave the reader their own space...to visualize and think...it's a complete story from start to finish with and ending that is satisfying in that it feels true to the characters.

I didn't cry until the very last page.
This book was amazing, and I hope those reviewers who "didn't get it" or "didn't like it as much" truly give it another chance. I took my time with it over the past few days; reading a few chapters and then letting them sit with me and soak in until I went back.
I think everyone can relate to Senna in some way... She has flaws, yes, but who doesn't? Her journey, though sad and very difficult and painful, led her to Isaac... And that kind and amazing man was strong enough for both of them until she recognized the strength within herself.
I highlighted so many parts of this book, Tarryn. Thank you for your words.

I really have no words. This book sucked me in and held me there. I don't know that I've ever felt this way after reading a book. I'm drained, exhausted. The writing is incredible. Not too much description, not too little. At first I was annoyed with not knowing all of the back story, such as why "mud vein" but as the author revealed what she wanted when she wanted, it made sense. As a rape survivor and someone who suffers from depression, I understood the main character and the inner dialog. I understood the 'crazy.' It might not be for everyone but, this book moved me.

As I look over the reviews from others and see such a wide like/dislike of this story, it hits me that the unique style of this author has done exactly what is intended. This story is not your average romantic story. It's not your average anything story. For me, it delved into a deeper emotional meaning of love. Bravo Tarryn Fisher! This is my first read of your story style, and I will be looking for more.

Chiiiiild, when I tell you, this was disgustingly GOOOOD????!!!!???

Tarryn Fisher is an amazing story teller! I couldn't put it down!

But the big reveal of the kidnapper just did not make sense to me. I know, I know sociopaths don't make sense, but this just did not work.

I loved Issac. I wish Ms. Fisher would have given him a little happiness. Senna too.

My only complaint about Fisher's books are the fact that she never gives her characters happiness at the same time. Not even 15 minutes of a little bliss....it can be draining.

This is a beautifully written, very dark book and I loved it. I had to finish it. It is not a happy ending book but it is so worth reading. And while it is not a love story, to me, it kinda was. She figured out her soulmate and while it was too late for them and that is certainly not fair...at least they both know. And they both know how much the other loved them and what they both gave up for the other one. She gave him up to save him and send him back to his family. He couldn't give her up and leave her there. Beautiful, dark and haunting.

I love the way this story is written. Tarryn Fisher is a master with words. The plot, however, was just crazy. Like so crazy that I seriously disliked it and had to make myself finish.

I connected with Senna for all the wrong reasons and all the right ones. Some people found it hard to connect with such a disconnected person, but that's what makes Senna so profound. (IMO)
Wow. I love the way Tarryn Fisher tells a story. I couldn't put this one down. I couldn't figure out what was happening, which is why I think I enjoyed it so much.
I will say, it left me feeling quite empty inside.
Well played, Tarryn, well played.

This is not a love story. It's a story about darkness and tragedy and it's sad. But there's always a little light in the darkness.
