If this is your first time reading this author I would not start with this book. This was a good book but probably my least favorite of her work. Story line somewhat just kept going, when the book should have ended.

Bad writing - couldn't tell when the plot moved in time, 8 hour jumps mid page, and inconsistent characters. Bad morals - (beyond the basic plot) think trad wife. Made it about 40%, didn't think the book would redeem itself.

It needed a good edit for grammar, plot holes, continuity, etc.
I'd read The Stopover, and I liked it ok, but I wouldn't have guessed this was the same author. This one felt self- published and rushed.
