This is a book obviously written with the intention of being made into a film (which it was). It's a made-for-the-masses mediocre sci-fi novel full of silly nonsense and inflated ego. I don't recommend unless you arent much of a reader in general.

I don't read a lot of fiction but I found this intriguing from cover to cover. I saw the movie when it came out and it did the book justice, but I'm glad I read the book first as it was much better. Lots of cool science in an enjoyable and comedic narrative.
