This book was recommended to me a lot. No regrets reading it. Beautifully short but packing a lot into 200 pages through the casual descriptions of how society is structured that you can infer a lot from. I keep thinking Murderbot is watching Sailor Moon though based on the show title, which I think inherently makes it funnier. Not my highest rating because M's apathy leaves me a little apathetic too.

 Categorizing as Cozy because the overall message of acceptance and kindness; there def is sci-fi stress and some violence.

I think Murderbot is a great representation of autism/neurodivergence, they felt very relatable and familiar (to this neurodiv person). The LGBTQ representation is great amongst the human characters. Wells does not mess around with plot, the story rapidly develops along with character progression, with moments of tension, compassion, and cleverness.

Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining, I'm hooked and can't wait to finish the series!

The premise is neat and the characters are interesting and complex, but this book never really grabbed me and I found it hard to really get into the story.
