Review #9 of 2021! I was really hoping to like this book more than I did. While I commend Michelle on being so driven and meticulous about trying to solve this case, most of the background given about the crimes felt very “info dumpy” to me and was pretty hard to follow. I did like reading Michelle’s personal accounts with detectives and police further trying to solve the case. I also think it would have added quite a bit to the story had they added an additional chapter or two on how Michelle’s work eventually led to the capture and arrest of this brutal rapist/murderer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved this book! Just a note to fellow readers: I listened to it on audio, and I struggled to keep the people and timelines straight. So, a casual listening experience it was not. But a fascinating account of both the cases themselves and McNamara’s own journey, and definitely worth the Google searching I had to do to remember details I had missed!
