I read this entire series in three days. I was really into it and that hasn't happened in awhile. This was a close second for best of the series, after the first book. It had a few ridiculous moments, annoying stereotypes, and just general OTT-ness. But overall, I loved this story. Edward was a sweetheart who just couldn't get himself together. Jack lived in his closet so long he forgot why he was in there. Put them together and the sexual tension is through the roof! I love the addition of the powers in this series and how all the couples intertwined. Miss Olivia was that perfect Southern grandmother, the one everyone knew and loved, who had a secret or two of her own. This whole series made my weekend pass quickly and with a smile on my face!

An easy predictable read that I enjoyed tremendously. Perfect for a lazy vacation read.

I haven't read the previous books, but I might after this as the secondary characters intrigued me a bit more than the MCs. I thought their meddling an "I know best" attitude was a bit tiresome though. I also thought Jack behaves a bit too much like a self centered ass.

There isn't much of a plot more than Jack having an important place in the community and is scared of climbing out of the closet and Olivia's illness that Edwardis come to somehow make better. There are hot times, but those are not in the forefront even if it is mentioned in every other sentence how hot and sexy Jack thinks Edward is (or the other way around). But in the end that's alright because it is such an enjoyable read. Some times your brain needs this kind of vacation.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

From their first meeting Jack and Edward’s relationship seems to be a comedy of errors. Jack is embarrassed and then on top of that has to take Edward’s dog home. They both push each other’s buttons, both the good and the bad, but have to learn a little about adapting too.

I didn’t quite connect with these characters as much as I did in the other books and felt that there was more to Jack’s backstory than what was told. He continues to push Edward away and suddenly gives into his feelings to stand beside him and it just came out of the blue to me.

I did feel for Edward, he had been pushed away by his father and manipulated by his mother for most of his life and just as he is getting to know that one person who loves him no matter what he loses her. But Olivia left a good base for Jack to finally latch on to. I loved the support these two got from those around them and getting to see everyone from the previous books some more.

The cover art by Posh Gosh is great, I love the visual of Winston and continues the pattern for the series.

I LOVED Edward! I loved his tenacity; I loved his open heart; I loved his ability to be exactly who he is. One of my favourite characters ever!

Ready to give this a high rating until the grandmother was on her deathbed and no one contacted her minister or church, especially since one of the MCs was a member of the same church. The author spent a chapter on a scene at Sunday service and painted a pretty positive experience including the reverend. Grandmother was also on the church board. If it had been me dying, I would have wanted my lifelong friends and my minister by my side. So I got so disgusted I DNF at that point.

This book, along with the series, has people with paranormal abilities - which I did not remember being mentioned in the blurb.

I only leave a neg review when I really enjoy a book and then get super disappointed when the author does something weird.

Re-Read 03/2012

I don't really like the rest of this series and never got around to reading much of it, but this book I really enjoy. Edward is a flamboyant and kind of raw character that I really connect with. I really enjoy this book the second time.

Sweet and cute.
