i had no idea what this was about before reading and was pleasantly surprised. it was definitely spooky and perfect for the season. i do feel like the story was rushed in parts and then missing something at times. overall, i had a good time and would recommend!

⚠️: fire/fire injury, death, sexual harassment, gaslighting, blood

This was such a cute sapphic story! Though it was a bit fast at times, and felt like it skipped around at others, the mystery is good, the climax is tense (plus a few other climaxes if you know what I'm talking about). I really enjoyed this read.

Crema had an interesting premise but lost me a bit with its execution. The story focuses almost exclusively on the plot while still somehow rushing to get the whole story in. I wish there had more character development of both Esme and Yara. The romance between them developed super quickly but it was hard to feel invested in when I didn't even have a sense of the two characters as individuals, let alone why they were interested in each other.

It really seemed like Crema would've benefitted from being a bit longer to have a chance to provide some character development and allow the plot some room to breathe.

Thank you Dark Horse Books and Edelweiss for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
