Spontan das E-Book aus der Onleihe ausgeliehen. Vergebe 3,5 Sterne.

Der Titel sagt schon alles, die Handlung dahinter schleppt sich etwas, aber ich mag den Winter Soldaten als Charakter.

One of the best Marvel plotlines ever. Dramatic, suspenseful, reminiscent of old good Cap from the 60's, yet inmersed in the contemporary world. Superb drawing. A crescendo of an impending doom in every page. A must for comic fans.

I just love Cap.
It was really good, and the art (as always) was ridiculously amazing!

It's fine. I was expecting to like this a lot more. Much more of a slow-building war/spy story than the superhero action-suspense story I wanted. It's very tied to the continuity of the time, too, which I had no interest in. Honestly, I was bored more often than not. I'll read the next volume to get a conclusion, but I'm not super excited for it.

Three stars since Brubaker is a good writer on a technical level, even if I didn't care for this story, and because Epting is a fantastic artist.

At times, this (fifth) instatement of the Captain America title/series dips a bit too much into 24 territory for my tastes, but the overall strength of the writing and the artwork can make me overlook such things.
Hopefully with this new jumpstart, people will start seeing what a great and worthy character Captain America is/was. I hesitate to say "what a great and worthy character Steve Rogers is" given how things ended up post-Civil War, but then again -- maybe such events will get the new generation of comics nerds interested in what came before.

Well, if you had to bring back one of the long dead Marvel icons, this is the way to do it.

Plenty of SHIELD action, an Invaders adventure crammed in, and the Red Skull getting murdered in the first issue. Despite all these fun bits, I was a little "meh." I actually think the setup and reveal in the movie was better than the book.

Regardless, I don't think I've read a Captain America comic in over 30 years, and the good news is he still reads like Cap.

Recommended for Cap fans only.

Bucky Barnes is my favorite Marvel character and I made the mistake of finishing the collection during my Spanish class, which led me to openly sob in front of everyone. This collection means so much to me and it was so beautifully written and illustrated. Definitely one of my favorite Captain America arcs.
