This story was crazy and not at all what I expected when I started. An interesting read!

A terrifying story with a positive message. There are times where the book seems to just be a listing of facts and is thus a little dry.

The story of the survivor is incredible but the book felt very slow with a lot of information outside of the case.

Informative, if a bit dry. Still, an interesting look at a piece of true crime that I've never come across before.

really interesting story, terrible writing. this book was so boring. a girl lost at sea, a captain claiming her and her whole family are dead, a pod of whales visits her....I mean need I go on? how did you make this so dull? I am surprised I even finished the book.

just go read an article about what happened.

Seriosly disappointed. Despite the 2 authors listed only one of them actually seems to have written the book, Terre herself says hardly anything. I felt some important parts were missed out about her return to Wisconsin - like how did she grieve, and what was done about funerals or rememberance? When did people fully accept her father and the others were dead? She didn't accept it for years, but did that help her cope in some way to have some hope that he still lived?
