when I was about 50% through this book: just found out this isn't a trilogy and actually has 6 or 7 books. now I'm annoyed that there aren't graphic audio's out for the rest of it and don't think I can finish out the series with just regular audio books.....I am not the biggest fan of super long series so that's my own bad on not researching it more. We shall see if I feel differently in the next half that it makes me care enough to read a physical copy, since I can't find a regular audiobook on libby or hoopla...
Finished with the book: well I've downloaded and started a free audible trial in order to try and finish out the series. It got too good towards the end that I had to continue on with it. I am quite annoyed that there are so many books, and that I'm having to transition to regular audio book now.
The book itself was alright, definitely my least favorite out of the first three books. I just feel like it was a plot transitioner and didn't have any huuuuge plot points itself. Which makes sense considering how long the series is. But it was still alright. This one was the hardest for me to continue "reading". But the ending is good, and there are only two more books out so I'm going to power through.
I honestly think had I known up front that this series was 6-7 books long, I'd probably not recommend people to read it. It's good, but I'm not sure if I'm sooo obsessed with the plot to convince anyone to read 7 books about it.

I really enjoy this series. I think that the first two books were better-directed in terms of plot. This installment felt a bit more winding and like it dragged. I found a lot of the world building and history detailing to be confusing. It was really the last ~100 pages or so where things really picked up and got good, I felt like leading up to the last few chapters it was just really slow. The confusion that Poppy experiences, especially toward the end, transferred well because I was also hella confused. There was a lot of info-dumping and telling, as is the case with JLA's books. Other people are saying how there was a ton of romance and spice in this book, but that wasn't my impression? I feel like they just spent a really long time talking about what they were going to do/could do rather than doing it. Granted, I did read other books in the middle of this one, but I just don't consider spice to have been a big aspect of this installment. Things ended on quite the cliffhanger so I'm looking forward to the next book!

I enjoy your overall story but Poppy is kind of annoying
An absolutely incredible book and series. Jennifer L. Armentrout continues to top her last books with engaging plot lines, beautiful relationships, and spectacular worlds. This is my all time favourite series and I cannot wait for book four.

I already forgot what happen in the first 80% of the book. The endless yapping and questions made it drag on. I feel like they couldve put the important points of what happened in the 80% (if there were any) and the last 20% in the next book and nohing would be missing

Overall 4 stars ⭐️ I enjoyed this one more than the last one. The beginning was SO good. Middle was slow and annoying. Ending was mind blowing 🤯 I love Casteel so much. I love the wolven. Poppy’s internal dialogue is annoying af it makes it worse.
