i really enjoyed this! the snarkiness and sarcasm the author uses throughout the book made it so much more fun to read. i found myself actually rooting for historical figures I've never even heard of (even though obviously they passed away since they were included in this book T-T). i just really loved learning about all the different types of poisons that were used and omigod the royal drama?!?! that and the fancier as well as the more Victorian aesthetics are the only parts of that era that I envy.
I also loved the inclusion of modern day poisonings. It's genuinely terrifying but so fascinating at the same time.

This book felt like a regurgitation of minute historical facts, loosely organized, and with the occasional little tidbit of back story or insight from the author. It was extremely hard to follow.
