We love a good, short, mpreg story. This was perfect.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

“You’re my partner, little wolf. I hope someday my love can erase what your father put you through, can show you that controlling his family the way he did isn’t how love works.”

This was a fairly quick and entertaining read. I love mpreg and shifter romance as well as omegaverse, so lots of it worked well for me. I wish there was more time spent shifted because we didn’t get a lot of that, and for the amount of pages it had, it was actually a bit heavy on the external stuff going on. Would’ve loved to see more of the MCs together.

One part I really liked was that the MCs didn’t really know what was going on with them for a good chunk. They didn’t know what a ‘heat’ was or that the omega MC could get pregnant, so that of course put a different spin on things.

Quick fun, but maybe a bit light on some things that would’ve made it even better.

This quote made it lose half a star, lol. The virgin/innocent/pure language gives me the ick:

“Gods dammit.” Hawk smacked the steering wheel with his palm. “I can’t believe I allowed myself to hurt you like that, to use you so roughly when you were an innocent.”

4.5 Stars Jasper is a strong omega who escapes hell brought on by his own father. Thankfully, he falls into Hawk's (love the name!) arms. Great connection between them, even if Jasper couldn't sense the mating bond from the start like Hawk could. I wonder if we will see more of Hawk in the series? Will he be learning from Asha? I can't wait for the next book!

I immediately borrowed this book through Kindle Unlimited once I finished the first book. I was so excited to see there was a sequel to Rescued by the Alpha. Guarding the Runaway Omega did not disappoint. It was fabulous addition to the series. Hawk and Jasper were sweet together, and I adored their relationship.

Overall Rating: 4 Stars. Wonderful story and great writing – I had fun reading this book.
