Planning a dry January, I thought this would be a helpful guide. It is useful to be reminded of the dangers of alcohol and the chemical, psychological and social addictiveness of it. As is often said, it is the only drug that you have to justify not taking! I appreciate the author's stance that we shouldn't "other" people who have hit rock-bottom as "alcoholics" - because of the nature of alcohol anyone who drinks is somewhere on the same road to addiction.

That said, I haven't found it that difficult to give up alcohol so far this January but I'm not completely sure if that is because of the book's method. I gave up on the linked app because I just felt I didn't need to be preached at about alcohol every day. I can see that if you are concerned that your drinking is increasing, this book could be helpful.

Focuses more on the dangers of alcohol and less so on personal memoir, though there are elements of this. Really useful resource, super encouraging.

Quite possibly the most important book I have ever read (besides Alan Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking). Took me three attempts, and the third was the charm. I do not feel deprived, or even wish I drank alcohol anymore. Coming up 2 years since I read it last. Have brought physical copies for loved ones and friends.

I don’t know man, maybe I’m just not made for self-help books about quitting drinking

This book has helped change and save my life.
Gratitude Annie Grace.

Once you know, you can’t un-know. Once you read this book you’re unable to view alcohol the way you once did. If you are sober curious and need the nudge you’ve been seeking to take that final step this book is for you. Talk about a wake up call! I’ll be recommending this if I ever talk about this topic with friends and relatives- such a great, well rounded resource for the journey. Also check out the podcast by the Author, This Naked Mind by Annie Grace.

This was probably the most boring, but likely the most helpful quit lit I've read. Grace believes repetition and reframing shift our unconscious mind.

Loved all the facts but couldn’t get on board with the writers voice which made it hard for me to read and why it took me so long
