This was a phenomenal conclusion to this series.

(Check out my full series review here -> https://youtu.be/MyCbIPEsLWs)

If you've seen any of my reviews form the previous books in this series, then you know that I absolutely loved the first book and was less thrilled (though still enjoyed) the second and third installments. They were just more focused on the characters and their backstories or on the strategic solving of the crime or just not as interesting of a crime, in my opinion. However, this last book was just, oh my goodness, I could not put it down.

I felt like this was an extremely satisfying conclusion to the lives of the main characters. I understand where they are heading at the end of the series and how they will cope with the aftermath of tragedy. In addition, this installment ties threads from the previous novels together so well. I wasn't even aware that threads were being laid until I saw everything come together in the end. I love how everything from book 3 tied so beautifully into this installment. Even events from book 2 made a reappearance. It was all just done so fabulously well.

On top of all of that, I would definitely not call this book predictable. I wasn't able to call anything more than 5 pages in advance. Barnes wrote it in a way where she allowed you to piece together the information on your own, but it wasn't predictable. I was finding things out right alongside the characters, but just a tad bit sooner. So, it gives you the satisfaction of saying you figured it out or "called it," but in reality you really didn't.

In all, this series has quickly become one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait to read some of Barnes' other novels. I hope in the future she writes more YA crime/murder mystery series because I desperately need more things like this in my life.

10 out of 10, would recommend!! :)

This wasn’t my favorite of the series. I didn’t necessarily love where the plot went but it was okay. I think it just too confusing with all the names by the ending. Even though I didn’t love this book, I still wish there were like 5 more to go.

not the biggest fan of the ending but i can’t believe it’s over. so much happened in this book, with so many characters and plot points. i wish it was kind of more organized, but overall i wished for more scenes with the fmc and main mmcs.
