The story from the previous volume concludes, and we see that some long-standing enemy was behind it, leading to another problem later on.

But the big plotline of the volume is when Himari gets to see what one of Aoi’s big responsibilities as the demon prince really is. It’s misleading at first, and Himari has to pretend to be a yokai to even be allowed at the ceremony. It’s dangerous for Aoi, but it’s something he has to do every so many years, to keep a dangerous creature locked up. Himari doesn’t like it, but Aoi isn’t as weak as he used to be and he handles it.

Then we’re left with the introduction of a new character, surely to be a new boy added to the harem at least temporarily.

I am enjoying this series, though it’s a little harder to follow. I still look forward to the next one.

This volume was where things started to come together. I can't wait to read the next one and to also get more of the Nue!

This series is genuinely riveting but unfortunately falls victim to the anime trope where the girl screams and acts scandalized when a man come near here and we have been robbed of countless sex scenes. I mean seriously. An ORPHANED girl living ALONE with THREE sexy guys and no one's even kissed?? That specific aspect of the book is more unrealistic than them living in a house with demons.
