This ain’t my usual read, but it’s Valentine’s Day and steamy (while it’s freezing out). Plus hockey and tatted MC, I couldn’t help myself 😅
Pleasantly surprised since I’ve read fan fiction that has been better than some romance novellas, but Elle Kennedy knows her audience! Summer is not your standard sorority, blonde but Fitz is your typical loner, gamer and together you get fireworks at Briar U. But they’re not surface level, you get some consistent growth, representation of learning disabilities, addressed stereotypes, family drama, and a subplot of sexual misconduct. AND they were ROOMMATES 😆
I’ve also discovered there is a whole universe among the cast of characters so excuse me while I borrow a few [read as entire] more of the series.

This is such a heartwarming read, you should read this book as a feel good book. Like reading this is comparable as sitting down one afternoon to watch all the chick flicks you possibly can in one sitting to just forget the world for a while.
Summer is such a real character and you can see her grow and struggle. She is so lovable and honest about herself.
I'm contrast you can see fitsy, who is so much more reserved and they just click. This is a story of a girl chasing a guy and I don't think anyone can read this without smiling like an idiot the entire time.

I love the ADHD and neurodivergent representation but other than that the book was fairly average.

Also why must all these men suck? Yes Summer is hot and rich, doesn’t make her dumb.

i left off reading off-campus with high expectations for its sequel. i was ecstatic to pick this up, especially that i’ve been intrigued with summer since i met her in dean’s book. however, it did not reach my expectations.

don’t get me wrong, i love both fitzy and summer; i’m in love with their relationship. but, being exactly there was definitely not happiness and rainbows. it was exhausting to see them fighting over almost non-sense for above 50% of the book. i’m aware that summer’s character flaw is her stubbornness and that fitzy’s character flaw is being unable to speak up, however, it pisses me off that they won’t communicate and were leading each other on.

regardless, i still enjoyed the book. i now want dean as a brother of mine, and i definitely fell in love with tucker all over again (even if he only had one appearance). i’m excited to read the next book in the series, and hopefully it’s better.

She's my muse, my laughter, my trigger, my desire, but most of all, shes my heart

I think I expected a little bit more from this book than what I got. I loved Summer, she's one of those women that you just instantly fall in love with, Fitzy however, didn't hit the right spot. He didn't have the glamour that the Off-Campus boys had. He felt kinda detached if that makes sense, also he never said any cute things to Summer about what she was to him or anything. It felt like they weren't each other's forever person yk.

I loved how Kennedy included Summer's learning disability and the gradual realisation and growth that she experienced because of that. I thought that was a really nice addition to have.

The only time that I really loved Fitzy was when he went all primal, other than that, he felt like a side character. The boys' friendship was a sore point as well, I expected them to be just as close with each other as the last 4, and I was heavily disappointed.

Because Summer Heyward-Di Laurentis makes everything possible.
