I am left absolutely speechless. This book made me feel things and I will be thinking about it for years to come.

I wasn't convinced at first- I couldn't really connect to the characters that well and the reason behind all of the talk about sex completely flew over my head (I still don't get it, but I'm content to ignore it)- but this book now holds the dubious honour of being one of the only books that has made me cry :)
The way it was written was very clever, we were told-and-not-told just like the students at Hailsham. The story was very sad, but actually somewhat realistic- just look at the way we treat animals in society (not that I'm saying mass cloning people in order to harvest their organs is exactly the same as that, but it isn't a huge leap. Most people just try to avoid thinking about it).
As someone who isn't used to slow-paced, philosophical books this was a bit of a slog to get through in places but it was well worth it.

I wish I had more stars to give this book. There are a lot of books that touch on the ethical science advancement topic, but none of the ones I've read do them like this book does.

I loved that the main idea the book was critiquing  wasn't being pushed into all of the book pages. Instead, we got the story of children/teenagers/young adults being ordinary, stories about their lives, about their loved ones, about the things they learned about themselves and the world they were trying to live in. I found it very disturbing how all the dark pieces of this puzzle were brought up to our attention in such a subtle, peaceful way so the characters just accepted their fate in the same way.

The plot developed around such mundane human acts,
that the very thing Miss Emily and Madame were trying to do was shown through this pages, It showed just how human these clones were.
I found that genius and I can't stop thinking about how much I adored the experience of reading this book.

I found myself surprised by how difficult this book was to put down — Ishiguro’s masterful storytelling builds slow, unsettling suspense which sneaks up on you in a narrative that feels otherwise gentle and mundane.

I didn’t like this book because of the plot or the characters in particular, I liked this book because of how it made me felt. For the entire book Kath is holding onto her life, and her purpose, when in the end she was only created to die. Her and Tommy wished for more but instead were left with the truth; there was no point for anything they did. I cried over this book.
