I really enjoyed this second volume and the ending… oh my gosh I instantly want to continue the series, Ryo is holding onto my heart for dear life.

In this volume, we mainly follow Ryo as he looks for a part time job to help out the clothing brand he’s recently started with fellow students Jin and Itsuka. In doing so, Geku highlights some of the issues transgender people have in employment and working relationships. I don’t want I spoil anything that happens but we’re introduced to the character of Mizuki who works with Ryo and she is definitely a personality. A popular YouTuber Tsubasa (Wing) wants to collab with the boys as their brand ‘stands for self-representation of sexual minorities’ of which target are part of - their gender identity isn’t given but use the pronouns they/them - and I loved their character too… until a point but that’s all I’m saying.

I would have liked to of seen more of what Jin, Ituska and some other characters from the first volume were up to but don’t have any real qualms with it. The writing and artwork is great again, accompanied by a storyline that pulls your forward. The characters, especially Ryo, is just so damn lovable and I need more of him. Geku (and translator Leo McDonagh are trans men themselves) further provides insight to the transmale experience focusing on dysphoria quite a lot but like volume one, there’s an uplifting message to it. This series already has the potential to be a 5 star read so am excited - worried and stressed too - to continue the journey.

Ryokan is still a bit insecure, but he's gaining confidence bit by bit.
A new job, new friendships and opportunities. I'm really excited to see where it's going.

The next volumes are on the way already!

I'm not sure how I feel about Wing outing Ryo in front of the whole Internet, though. I. Sure they don't have I'll intentions, but he should be able to come out in his own time.
