This one definitely had an interesting plot and wasn't all just sexy-time. It will be interesting to see where the next books go after the development at the end of this book.

Another surprise from Lynsay Sands, as my first exposure to her was lack-luster. The first two books I read from her were just okay, so I'm ecstatic that the last two I've read were actually good. I also appreciated that I can read this series out of order and it still makes sense.

Immortal Unchained gave me a bit of a deeper subplot, reminiscent of The Island of Dr. Moreau; shit got dark and I was deeply invested. The romance was good as well, nice and steamy with the lovely trope of "we're alone and stranded, let's try to survive/escape." I honestly eat that trope up, I could read stuff like that all day and luckily the first half of this book delivers on that theme incredibly well. Also, for the second half of the book, I found myself obsessing over a side character. Thorne. Oh my God he needs his own book. I need to know everything about him.

Anyway, I would recommend this book if you want a quick, steamy adventure with a really dark subplot.

Enjoying the new twist to this series.

Kidnapping, vampires and a mad scientist.  A romp of a book.
