this was my first time reading a book by Olivie Blake and i understand now what people mean about how unique her writing is. despite the fact it took me longer than normal to read this book because i felt like i had to stop and process everything, her writing was just so addicting.
i love how every character bounced off each other really well, loved how everything connected within the characters and their stories, and i felt very satisfied at the ending. fair warning, though, it does take like 70% ish of the book until you feel like you actually understand what the main point of the story is, and even then it takes a while to hit as you read the rest.

An interesting and intriguing aspect of characters that are different magical beings solving a mystery about a ghost and death itself. A story with different perspectives about the plot itself and the lives of both the magical beings and how it is all interconnected.
All I can say is that I don't think this author is for me, I've read a book from her before which is the One for My Enemy, and didn't like it. I don't think her writing style is for me and I've struggled to be immersed with her stories. The plot itself is interesting and some moments caught my curiosity but most of the time, I didn't care for the said characters maybe for the reason that there were too many POVs and I was confused most of the time. The only thing I like is the illustrations in her books and how some chapters have it then the beginning and end of the pages have it.
