Beautiful, heartbreaking, and just a stunning masterpiece of storytelling. I devoured this and loved every minute of it.

A bit to wordy and pretentious in its writing style. Overuse of purple prose. I'll try another of the author's books at some point since one book isn't enough to say I dislike the author's whole writing style. Sometimes it may be that a specific book doesn't land with a person

I like this book a lot but I wouldn’t be able to give it a 5/5 just because of how everything felt a little rushed towards the end. The beginning was a little slow with introducing all the characters and this infamous immortal Game. But once they all met up at the Parker mansion everything started to develop and move quite fast. I loved all complex characters and their roles in the Game and the book overall. The romance subplots were so adorable and the tension for Fox and Brandt was palpable. I loved the plot of the Game and how it worked, very creative on the authors part. The character development was impressive as well because characters like Brandt and Tom Parker I seemed like horrible people but in the end, their true motives were revealed and showed that they weren’t truly bad people. And as for Gabriel and Raphael, they’re hilarious with their little comedy duo. Loved the plot line of this book and glad it was left as a stand alone, not some money grab series.

This book was a bit of a tough read at the beginning with all of the switching perspectives and how things are never fully explained until it gets to the end. I also found that some of the characters were a little more surface because there were so many different ones.

But, the banter between characters was great and had me laughing out loud at times, the plot was intriguing, and it all came together at the end. I really liked the ending and how it left me thinking about the power of a life/thing with an ending.
