The first half of this book relies almost entirely on miscommunication, to a really tiresome extent.
The second half, however, is pretty good, with a smoother plot point transition than in books 13-15.

Possible spoilers- not sure if I care on this one??
Umm "fiasco" was a little too on the nose for me. I was irritated by Flor and the superstitions that kept her hurt and away from I'rek. Don't get me wrong, its still a very creative story and I have no idea how Ruby keeps coming up with stories for the Ice Planet over and over again but she is good.

I'rek has been interested in Tia for so long (how long is 3 turns of the season??) and when she is finally coming back, he resonances with Flor who has been a steadfast friend to him. Timing sucks but they got right to business once the cootie started buzzing since they were familiar with each other. NO hesitation, which was different from the other books :)

This one just didn't endear itself to me until the end, when Flor finally hears the words and sees the actions that convince her this is love, not just lust. It got better at the end, I liked their banter:

“You want to spend your nights in my furs and your days at my side.” I kiss her nose. “You love my cock. You love my spur. You love my tongue.” “The rest of you is kind of annoying,” she mutters,"

And what is this! 15 more people dumped on the planet?? it just keeps going!

*Spoilers

I'm not going to lie, the constant back and forth between these two about the Tia situation got old fast for me. I also wasn't that interested in the newcomers that much. Plus Flor and I'rec didn't make me love them as much as other characters. Still very enjoyable and thebproblems with it are more like inconveniences than complaints, but definitely not a personal favorite of mine.

I will say that I am very excited for R'jaal's Resonance now. I already love Rosalind and honestly hope she puts R'jaal in his place a little cause he got on my nerves in previous books with his shit.

I have been saving this for a rainy day and that day finally arrived. Ruby just doesn’t miss for me, honestly. This was cozy and low stakes despite the potential for major peril and intrigue. The intrigue stays medium. The peril stays very low. Old friends pop in to say hello, plots converge from other series (anytime we get spacefaring messakah cameos I get *really* happy), noodles get dropped on Not Hoth. Ah, noodles. I’m so excited to begin the clone series.
