This was such a shocking read for me. Genuinely I’m the person that does judge a book by a cover (sorry don’t hate me) and at first glance the kindle cover gave me the impression it would be just another romance. I was expecting a lil three star maybe 3.5 as most romances are for me, but this gripped me so quick.
The people felt real, I laughed, cried a little, kicked my feet and fell in love with this authors work. Her writing style is so developed and overall made this a one day read for me. I’m not usually interested in the “childhood crush” troupe because it’s too obsessive typically for my taste. But this was done right, it wasn’t driven by that adolescent crush and I loved it

The initial premise gave me the ick so I wasn't planning on giving it more than a 4. But then the rest of it ended up being really good AND there was no epilogue (I hate epilogues) so that bumped it up to 4.75. On it the next one!
