Fake dating and then a proposal so quickly? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I kind of love Autumn and Briggs and I get that they have history, it seemed like they didn’t need to wait years to fall for each other. But maybe all this happened way too fast.

This was my first hockey romance book, and I don't know if it was a great introduction. I think overall, the writing was a little repetitive and clunky. This could've been 300 pages instead of 400 if the writing were edited down a bit. I also went into this with the assumption that it would be a lot steamier, and we didn't even get our first sex scene until 200 pages in. I'm not saying I require a lot of them by any means, but the genre basically means there will be more, and we only got like 2 in the entire book.
The ending was also ridiculous, to be fair. I can understand the two main characters keeping things a little secret from each other before they know for sure if the other has real feelings for them, but going from admitting they actually like one another to moving in together to PROPOSING was actually wild. I couldn't even suspend my disbelief for that.
I also thought Isaac was an icky brother for being so protective over his sister. I don't know, it just felt gross.

The plot was okay and I liked the storyline, but the characters didn’t always feel genuine, the relationship felt rushed and it severely lacked chemistry.
