I need to read descriptions more clearly, as I totally missed one of my big don’t-care-to-read tropes in the book’s description. I assumed that Nina changing her mind about raising a family was related to her raising her siblings and being happy to do that with Isaiah by her side. Found family, love it. Surprise/accidental pregnancy, ehh... not really for me, and of course that was a focal point as the book covers the pregnancy start to finish. But, I loved book #1, so I pushed on and the characters drew me in.
Isaiah and Nina are both well-developed characters with rich back-story and lives beyond each other, and are successful in their own businesses. Their personal arcs were nicely done and the progression for both of their characters felt realistic. There was a bit of the ‘just f-ing communicate’ issue around Isaiah’s past relationship with Alexis.
I enjoyed getting peeks at the other characters and seeing where the future books will go. The author does a great job of making sure we keep reading to find out the supposedly hilarious story of how all the guys met. I’ll be back for book 3!

A really enjoyable read. I loved that I was invested in every relationship mentioned in this book, romantic, familial, platonic. This book was filled with different kinds of fulfilling Black love, and I love that for me. The pregnancy was a surprise for me but I appreciate that it was. Isaiah is funny and so sweet and Nina might just be my new best friend. I loved how real all of the characters felt and how they were able to have fears and flaws. Nina and her siblings deserved a safe and happy ever after and it was beautiful to see that they gained that not only through Isaiah but through their entire community. Now I'm invested so I have to read everyone else's story and I can't wait. :)
