i was thinking about the lore constantly because i think there are so many fun concepts in here, particularly the eye sleepiness readers those were so cute!!! but also i kept wondering how this logistically worked out because it kept threatening to become a harder magic system. instead it just seemed like inside out and christmas magic/rise of the guardians style fare. i REALLY hated that i did this but i kept comparing it to bae mung-hyoon's tower that i think pulls off the whimsical twee aspects better but alas. like the names are all silly like where else are you going to get a main character called penny coming up against DallerGut and Yasnoozz Otra and Wawa Sleepland. incredible stuff. and theres a guy called vigo meyers. thats just his name. there were touching bits, i loved the chapter about death, but they meshed awkwardly with the rest of it. gah!!! i cant be too mad though it writes the creators of dreams like theyre movie directors and they have the Oscars But For Dreams like how can you not be charmed

cute beach read over the weekend, easy to bust through if you like this kinda thing.

This book was lot of fun to read. The world was fascinating as we learned more about it through our main character's eyes.

Some of the issues that had to do with the dreams were relatable. The dynamics between characters was really nice to read.
This book felt cozy and fantastical with a few emotional moments here and there.
