I actually really like Kiera Cass’ books - I’ve read the entire Selection series top to tail twice - but this one was rough. I have no good sense of the main character’s personality, aside from what her love interests told her she was. I read the book in about three days, so I can’t really say it was awful, but it just felt flat. Not her best work at all, but I will probably read the sequel whenever it arrives, because the plot twist near the end was mind boggling and ya girl needs some resolution.
Graphic: Emotional abuse and Grief
Moderate: Child death, Miscarriage, Pregnancy, Murder, Misogyny, Infertility, Death, Death of parent, and Bullying
Minor: Animal death
