Gave me palpitations at several points.

More diversity here, good worldbuilding.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas was an incredible continuation of an already great series. It’s not often I dive right into a second 600+ page book immediately after finishing one, but I couldn’t resist. I loved the new characters that were introduced and the changing dynamics of those who we’ve met before. I was happy to finally meet the rest of the High Lords and I cannot wait to dive into the next book. This series truly has everything I love in books, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The more I read of the ACOTAR series, the more I can see why this is such a fan favorite and beloved by so many fans of Maas. Each book sways me more and more towards ACOTAR being the superior series over TOG (but let’s be honest, they’re both amazing). I loved this book and if you’re a fan of fantasy, you will too, especially if you like a little spice thrown in.

2024 Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Honestly, I will read and LOVE anything and everything Sarah J. Maas writes!

This is my third time rereading this book and I still love it. I prefer ACOMAF out of the original trilogy, but these books are all so incredible.

I love the characters, Maas honestly writes some of my favourite characters, I love them! Maas’ storylines are always really interesting, intriguing and well played out.

Overall, I love this series and can’t wait to continue rereading it.

2018 Review

*4.5
OH MY GOD... I finally finished. It took 6 days... it should not have took six days!

👍🏻
- Feyre’s scheming in the first 100 pages! Even though in the end it kind of backfired, I found it hilarious!
- I loved the dynamic between Cassian and Nesta! I can’t wait to see more of it!
- None of the characters come across as too perfect! Each character is flawed in some way and make mistakes which I found just made them more realistic.
- Bisexual Mor! I love it!!

👎🏻
-Feyre and Rhys lost the sexual tension they had in ACOMAF which I was quite unhappy about.
- The story felt too long and some parts unnecessary and didn’t really aid the story in any way.
- No closure between Mor and Azriel! Mor knew she was leading him on but there was no resolution and Azriel is still in the dark on the matter.
- Very little closure with Tamlin. Besides a small comment to Feyre wishing her happiness, there was no proper closure! Considering the role Tamlin played in Feyre’s life, I really wanted something more to resolve their story.
- No main character fatalities. Considering two main characters died and were both brought back, it was unrealistic that none of the inner circle died in such a big battle. Especially since one of the character sacrificed themselves, it kind of takes away from that sacrifice when they are brought back within a few chapters.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from this series!
