Obviously there are plot points that still need to be wrapped up but the end of Hybern was so satisfying and seeing Feyre and her sisters come back together was so heartwarming. I got the chills, I cried, I gave myself a headache. This is probably my favorite of the first three books.

Page 2 and the fragmented sentences are back. šŸ˜‚

As expected, the poor writing and editing bothered me, especially the fragmented sentences.

Sample:

I had not dared to ask for more details about Cassian and Azriel ā€” or my sisters. In terror of knowing how bad it had been ā€” and what I'd do if their healing turned grim. What I'd bring down upon these people.

Healing. Alive and healing. I reminded myself of that every day.

Even when I still heard their screams, smelled their blood.

But I did not ask for more. Did not risk touching the bond beyond that first time.

How difficult is it to edit this book that it appeared as if the editors gave up? PSA for all the apologists for bad writing: claiming that the phrasing of the sentences is due to us reading Feyre's mind is simply a poor excuse for the poor writing. If you ever wonder why I still read this series even though I keep complaining about the writing, I can admit that I was foolish enough to buy all the books in the series before I read the first book because I succumbed to the hype. In my defense, I purchased the series when I regained my love for reading, also known as when I emerged from my 3-year reading slump, and I was too excited to buy anything that caught my interest. I am too frugal with money that I continue reading the series even if I dislike the writing, simply because I already bought all the books. Anyway.

I don't hate fantasy books being long. I actually like it when fantasy books are long because I know that it takes a lot to describe the world and give the backstories of the events and characters. BUT ACOWAR is too long, in my opinion. It could have been 200 pages shorter if Maas didn't repeat scenes over and over again.

I won't deny that I liked ACOWAR more than ACOTAR and ACOMAF.

okay i saw someone else describe this book as a rubber band ready to snap and i cant agree more! tell me why a big chunk (cough the real reason this book is 700 pages cough) is so slowww and maybe a lil repetitive ( oops! still love u sarah j mass thank you so so much for this series i am eatinggggg) but lowkey i fell into a mini slump and took an almost month long break (read a whole other book in between as well as prob a big book size of ao3 fics but thatā€™s honestly due to a diff obsession that came in full swing before i knew what was happening) but ANYWAYS back on topic i came back to acowar yesterday with 200 pages left and i was DETERMINED! it really helped that boom everything that took so long to set up suddenly fell into place and wowwwww the progression of events was wild! i loved it and was even pleasantly surprised to gasp at more than a couple shocking twists i wasnā€™t expecting. what i love about the acotar series is how easy it is to fall into the world and feel involved with the characters and environment <3
- to be fair ! i understand why this book is so long, feyre and the inner circle go through SO much, like literally damn i think i need a support group after that and honestly they would all thrive from one too.

This story has everything you would ever need and want to look for. One billion starts, this book had given me laughs, tears, shocks, turns. Itā€™s just amazing. The story is well written the characters are developed and beautiful very diverse. The story is unpredictable and thatā€™s a lot coming from me. The overlapping and story overall is just beautiful. The suspense is amazing. I want to say this is my favorite in the series so far and probably my top book of all time now. Highly recommend canā€™t give it enough stars and words. Love love!

I truthfully loved this book just as much as mist and fury. They do feel very different reading. This book is action packed and brimmed with love. Tamlin felt like watching a tennis match with how much he was swinging in his decentness. Absolutely love Mor and her story explored more in this book. I was surprised with how heavy there seemed to be focusing on Nesta and Cassian, but I didnā€™t mind it either. This book completely took me along the ride with emotions. I was vengeful with them, sad with them, scared with them, and unbelievably happy with them.
