It was soooooo damn amazing! One of the best fantasy books I've ever read. I'm still debating between Dorian and Chaol though.....:p

A fun read. Despite Dorian being worried about what makes him feel like a man and the characters all being younger than me I couldn't put it down.

I thought the first chunk of the book was boring compared to the end of assassins blade but once it really picked up it was SO GOOD. I can’t wait to see what happens in all of the other books!!

Also PSA I feel like if I didn’t read AB first, I would’ve really struggled with this book. Def read it first!!!

I picked this up after ACOTAR after being told it should be read before CC, and wow you can absolutely tell SJM wrote this as a teenager. None of the plot makes sense (Some of the baddest-ass warriors in the land are being brutally murdered and mutilated in a castle filled with courtiers and the actual royal family and they just... carry on? The most feared assassin anywhere ever is just a petulant teenager who can't stop herself from eating random candy?). And the names! They sound like stuff six year olds improv while playing make-believe. That said, I liked the worldbuilding, and am still in the midst of my ACOTAR hangover, so might give the next one a chance.
