As soon as I saw the cover of Wind Dancer, I just knew that this was going to be an amazing story. From the beginning of the story I was drawn into all the lives of the characters and they just seemed very real to me. Being a military wife, I loved the patriotic theme woven throughout the book. The characters fighting for the freedom of this country and their lives made the story so real. Yes, this story is about passion and romance, but there were also some things to learn as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I think this is Jamie Carie's best book yet!

The storyline involves Isabelle a strong-willed young woman who is different from any other girl around her. Her mother thinks Isabelle needs some time to get out and get the restlessness out of her, so she giver her permission to travel to get the clergyman's much-needed books from another town, far away. As Isabelle travels with her brother and an Indian guide named Quiet Fox, she meets up with Samuel, a spy who decides to travel with her small group as a cover and a guide. When the group gets attacked and captured by Indians and people aren't what they seem, what will happen? Right from the beginning Isabelle and Samuel are attracted to each other and find that they were always meant to be. Will Samuel leave her behind when he is able to escape from the Indians? Will their love grow and blossom amid the turmoil and troubles?

One thing I wanted to mention that I liked was the character of George Rogers Clark, being added to the book. I thought it was great that Jamie Carie added that a real-life character to the book and put some real history into it! Jamie Carie has done an amazing job with this book and is a very sweet person. I had the opportunity to meet her at a book signing last month, and I felt so privileged to be able to talk to her!

Ms. Carie takes you an exciting journey in this book, with twists and turns maybe with some you saw coming or maybe not.

The characters were all enjoyable and for this book I'm glad we got to see some other characters point of view.

I only didn't really like the ending. I personally would have liked to see more but that's just me, so whatever.

Whew that this book was a whirlwind. I really enjoyed reading this book. It shocked me at how deep it could go at times SPOILER!!! The part when Julian died wrecked me. It was written with such emotion that compels the reader to grieve with Isabelle over the loss of her brother. Samuel was a really strong character and I loved how he and Isabelle supported each other throughout the book. My favorite parts where when Isabelle or Samuel were in the presence of the Lord and felt Him move and speak to them. Those were the parts that really grabbed me. My only quarrel with Wind Dancer is that the end felt a little rushed and unexpected. It felt like it came out of left field. I felt that it was a very moving end but that it didn't feel like it fit 100 percent with the rest of the book. Overall although a little choppy in places I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
