A fun, adventurous y/a novel. I absolutely love the protagonist Alosa. She was so confident and daring and fun! Honestly a perfect protagonist for any y/a novel.

I loved that even though this book featured romance and some possible relationships, the book didn’t stray from the main plot, and the girls character traits didn’t change because of a love interest.

Unfortunately I didn’t fully connect with the characters, I didn’t think about the book much after I read it. I will definitely read the sequel, but I didn’t like the series enough to want to go back snd read it again anytime soon.

Morals of alley cats, these ones.
If you don't mind that (what else can you expect from pirates, honestly), then read at your own risk.

Here be casual, cold-blooded killing; thievery; seduction; torture; promiscuity; and general immorality. To be fair, the characters' consciences do prick them - if they are romantically or familially involved with someone. And it's rare.

This is a great book to get you out of a reading slump! The action never stops, and the romance is amazing. It has a badass female main character, and it’s an enemies to lovers. Good plot twist, and of course PIRATES. Lots of good vibes.

It's an easy read and good for reading slumps. It'll get you up and going. The story's plot didn't come off unpredictable but more of a smooth transition, it makes you get lost in imagination and binge over. I'm excited to see more of Alosa and Riden moments in the next book.
