Positives:
-pirates, duh
-good banter
- the "only one bed" trope
-utterly bingeable

Negatives
- a self-centered, egomaniac heroine
- "more show, less tell"
- forced romance / not believable enough for me
-shaky plot because of the romance, which was also not done well

It was so hyped up but disappointed me in the end. Narrative style was almost too cheesy to take seriously and the main character sometimes was irritating. Her powers had a lot of plot holes but still enjoyed despite this.

It's an easy read and good for reading slumps. It'll get you up and going. The story's plot didn't come off unpredictable but more of a smooth transition, it makes you get lost in imagination and binge over. I'm excited to see more of Alosa and Riden moments in the next book.

SPOILERS
The book was amazing! It was fast paced and it constantly made you want more. The main character, Alosa, is a strong woman who continues to amaze the reader. She is strong and witty, yet she has many secrets that are revealed throughout the book. The enemies to lovers romance in this book was phenomenal. Although, they did not end up together in the end of the book, I excitingly await the growth of their relationship in the sequel. There are a whole lot of interesting characters and plot twists throughout the book. I do wish there was more world building and more things hinting at Alosa's "special abilities". Other than that, it was a perfect quick read!

i loved alosa’s siren characterization the most out of anything in this book. it was so real and intense
overall this book was pretty basic in plot and very straightforward but there were plenty of scenes i enjoyed. i loved alosa and her character development, and same with riden, but the other characters were lacking.

I absolutely loved this book!! I loved the fast-paced nature of the plot and I literally could not put it down. I loved the way that the girl was the tough badass character instead of the guy love interest. Although the troupes are real predictable at times, the actual plot and adventure really made up for it. Also, I like sometimes for troupes to be predictable but that just may be me.
