This book is effortlessly funny and charming, with a cast of characters and circumstances whose wit transcend time and geographic boundaries. I can see why Hitchhiker became an instant classic—it's not afraid to be itself. From the wacky names to absurd premises, this is a book that trusts its reader to go along for the ride. And what a hilarious, shenanigans-infused time it was. The ideas feel fresh and original even in the face of all the derivative comedy that came after it. I'm itching to read the rest of the books in this series to see where the intergalactic adventure ends up.
