I don't know what it is with the authors' writing, but I was absolutely charmed by this one. The description of Max's feelings and how they develop was so sweet and romantic. I initially thought the story was another carbon copy of other books by the same authors, but there was something a little special about the way Max and Sara's relationship blossomed, and the dialogues were typical Christina Lauren - fun, snappy, and realistic. The story itself was not the most original, but I definitely liked Beautiful Stranger more than the first book in the series.
This was more like a 3.5, I enjoyed it but the sex in public wasn’t my jam. Maybe that makes me a prude but I didn’t love the trope. While I liked the characters I felt like the plot could have used a little more depth or something. I also felt the ending was rushed, that 3rd act break up could have been dragged out a little more. I didn’t even understand how they got back together or how exactly Sara forgave him. I’m still a little confused.
I did however like the nickname Max gave Sara, petal! I’m not normally fan of nicknames but that one worked.

Book 2 in the Beautiful Bastard series….I LOVED IT and I was so happy when Gallery Books sent this one for review. I love Christina Lauren and loved book one so I knew I would enjoy!
Max, well how can I explain this man he is powerful, strong and HOT. He has is a bad boy and that’s the way he wants to keep it, he is not looking for anything long term he had that and he is not looking to do it again. Sara is nothing like Max and never wants to be with someone who is so well known in the papers again after her failed relationship with a man who treated her like crap. But as fait had it they meet one night at a dance club and not only is Max a hot sexy Brit he becomes Sara’s secret sex thing after a VERY HOT hookup right there at the club.

This book only gets hotter as you read and more intense. I loved the fight Sara has with her self in this one, not knowing if she should get in to another relationship with a man so well known and so cocky. BUT this one she could just not shake and through out the WHOLE book it was exciting so see him push and her push back. Lauren did an remarkable job never letting me feel lost in this one, I felt each and every part of this book and sometimes wish I could step inside. I love that about a book, and ones that keeps me up all night it’s just so awesome!

I like the little twist in this one, the whole picture and public sex idea it only made the read more interesting, you keep thinking OH NO someone is going to catch them……….then nothing just hotness then it happens again and he takes more pictures and you think wow he really thinks she is beautiful and he needs to always remember. Lets just say READ and don’t stop and don’t put on your TBR list because you WILL be missing out! I can’t wait t o read more form Lauren and for this series I already have the Novellas waiting for me to read!
