So I think Beautiful Bastard was a fluke for me, because of the three books I've read by this duo so far (not counting Sublime because I didn't even realize they had written that until two weeks ago), it's the only one I felt only meh about. Beautiful Stranger has officially confirmed that I'm hooked on Christina Lauren. Their books are just so fluffy and romantic and adorable while at the same time being fun and sexy AND well-written... This is not a combination one finds often in this genre, so I do not intend to let it go. I'm so excited to dive into the rest of their library.

(Side note: This was almost in my read-in-24-hours shelf because I read nine tenths of it in a night, but it took me a week to finally read the last tenth because I got caught up in college stress. I should make a new shelf entitled wanted-to-read-in-24-hours-but-college-is-hard-man.)

I'm most likely (definitely) in a reader's high but they were both so cute and sweet and I'm crying because it's over and I wish there were more to read!!! I LOVED everything about this book!
**UPDATE** SO I read it again and nope, I wasn't in a reader's high. I just really loved the book!!

With Beautiful Bastard, I really didn't care for the boss/intern relationship. And I didn't feel like Bennett was as passionate as Max either. I mean, Max calls her Petal. Petal. And the thing with Bennett honestly felt grimey. Idk. that book felt dirty. And I mean HELLOOO his nickname was bastard. Such a red flag. I liked it but not a lot. So anyway that made me very skeptical going into this one, but I needed something quick and easy. I'm SO glad I did.

They're both sweethearts-- I could feel their love radiating out of the pages. Even though they're fake and fiction, it didn't feel like it. I really was so immersed in them that I forgot they didn't exist for a while. And my sad reality crashing down when I reached the end and I couldn't read more.

3.5 out of 5 stars. Didn't like this one as well as I liked the first one, but overall it was still a good book.

I liked it better than book 1 in this series, but I'm concerned that the pattern of "third act break-up" is going to be any every book thing.
