Honestly I got bored and I see why ppl like it but honestly I read other books that were more interesting and my desire to finish it dwindled especially since it's so long and I'd have to read 2 more after

For what its worth, this is the first book I have been able to completely finish in a LONG time. The story was very interesting, the world building was fascinating too, especially since its based on real historical events.
I also really like the main character (which is a rarity for me), and I absolutely love that she takes matters into her own hands instead of just "letting the plot happen to her" so to speak, like many other main characters in books I have read do.
I found some details of the plot to be somewhat predictable, but honestly not in any way that I minded. It didnt ruin the overall story for me at all, as the rest of the writing was engaging enough for me to keep coming back.
Definitely give this book a try!!

I don't get it. This came highly recommended, and it was just so...boring? I guess it changes in tone after the MC leaves Chinese Hogwarts but I just could not get that far.
