I am so happy that this book was better than the first book. I personally feel like this book was better. I thought the plot was more engaging.

I am still on the fence about Garyson Vs. Jamieson. I am leaning towards somebody, but I am not going to say who I feel once I am % sure. One thing that bothers me is that they say they don't want Avery to be another Emily, but they are also putting her in the same situation... I feel like that has a little bit of sway as to why Grayson back down from Avery.

There was one thing I have to say about this book plot twists that bothered me. I felt that every single plot twist in the book was the same. They were all about
characters being related. Like for real every character in the book be having a huge family that has something to do with the Hawthrone's in some way shape or form
I mean don't get me wrong even thought they were all the same I was still surprised.

I liked how we got more insight about Avery's family and her upbringing. A lot of how she was raised played into how she handles herself and others in the books. One thing though, in the first book I felt Avery's reactions were a little more guanine, whereas in this book I felt like she had no reaction to anything.

Will be starting the last book Right now. Kinda sad for it to end.

This is the second book in the Inheritance Games series, and I can’t wait to read the final installment! I was actually surprised at some of the twists and turns in this one. I’m glad we learned more about the background of both Avery and the Hawthorne family, and got to see Avery’s character develop more.

Secondary to the mystery aspect, there is a love triangle still brewing between Avery, Jameson, and Grayson. I know the obvious choice might be Jameson, but I am definitely Team Grayson! ☺️

Definitely read this series if you enjoyed Knives Out!

I want to reallllllly like these, but I'm only finding them mostly okay and entertaining, which is starting to annoy me. Yes, there are whiplash levels of twisty, interesting reveals, but the puzzles and clues feel kind of basic. Combined with the angsty love-triangle-ness of it all, it just feels a bit juvenile compared to other YA mysteries I've enjoyed. It's still a pretty fun ride, though, so I'm definitely go on to book 3. And Max is the best — she's with 3 stars just on her own!

BRB, searching Amazon for invisible ink kits. 🤣 I think I’ve found a YA mystery series that I enjoy more than the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder books! While I was a bit disappointed by the ending of book two, it was not because the story was bad; I simply had hoped for a different outcome. There was a reveal that I didn’t feel was necessary (see character: Mellie) and the love triangle between our main character and two brothers was a little weird and icky to me (iykyk). HOWEVER, the puzzles of the book still took the spotlight and kept me reading! I’m hoping book three brings a lot of surprises.

“Picture yourself standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The wind is whipping in your hair. The sun is setting. You long, body and soul, for one thing. One person. You hear footsteps behind you. You turn. Who’s there?”
