With her newfound knowledge of her genetic background, Avery finds herself entangled in the intricate web of the Hawthorne family. As she delves deeper into the secrets surrounding her lineage, she uncovers hints suggesting a closer tie to the Hawthornes than she ever anticipated.
Caught between the charismatic Grayson and the magnetic Jameson, Avery must navigate the complexities of her relationships with the Hawthorne grandsons while facing mounting threats from unknown adversaries determined to erase her presence from the family's legacy, no matter the cost.

Thoughts: This was very YA. The playfulness that the characters made me feel too old to be reading it. A bit slow to start but It did pick up towards the end.

slow to start, didn’t really know what was going on until half way, last 100 pages picked up and saved it from being a 3 star.

There were a few great reveal moments in this that made my jaw drop. My one complaint is that I’m kind of over the Grayson/Jameson love triangle and the ending was not even remotely close to the same amount of shock and compelling to read the next book as book 1’s ending was. I didn’t feel like it was enough to move the plot forward for another book. It overall felt pretty well wrapped up, and I’m a little surprised that there are two more books in the series.
