I had forgotten this book (and movie) completely! Which is why I enjoyed it even more. I admit, the beginning is a little slow, but after a few chapters it gets so intense! Such a good book, one of the best one of the series (Chamber of Secrets will forever be my #1)!

Being inside Harry’s mind in this book is an incredible emotional ride.

Oh. My. Goodness. Honestly? This is one of the worst movies of the group (in my opinion) and I was dreading reading this book. It definitely is a hard plot because Harry is so depressed and Umbridge is a beast and there’s so little of Dumbledore that it’s just frustrating! But there were also so many things I loved.

1. Hermione and Ron being prefects. This is such an interesting addition to their characters and gave them lots of fun touches for their future relationship. I loved their conversations and pride in being so important.

2. I loved Cho’s and Harry’s relationship. So cute! Even though I know it doesn’t work out in the end, it’s a fun way to see them growing up and having crushes.

3. I loved Ginny and Harry’s relationship in this. I love how she stands up to him and doesn’t let him yell at her or look down on her. She is strong and helpful and caring and I love her for it!

4. I loved the Dumbledore re-cap chapter! It’s always one of the best chapters but the ending in this book was such an amazing change! We got so many answers and it gave me chills! Hooray for the chosen one!!!

Umbridge is much more intolerable in this book - along with Cornelius fudge. I fell more in love with Sirius Black, Hermione, Ron and Ginny in this book - Harry was dealing with so much grief already from Cedric, and on top of that to have Voldemort’s emotions impacting his own- his friends never gave up on him even when he was lashing out constantly. I gained a deeper understanding of why Harry had to live with the Dursley’s and why Voldemort was so intent on killing Harry. I am also glad Cho and Harry never really got off - Cho is someone who needs a boyfriend to feel secure - and Harry didn’t need that extra weight in his shoulders. I always thought I liked Goblet of Fire the best when I watched the movies - but from a book perspective the Order of the Phoenix is so much better.

Absolutely amazing, even though i had heard that this was the weakest book in the series.
The book didn't feel like it was 800 pages. I love the way we get to see Harry grow up and becoming a teenager in this book, and i loved that we got to see some different sides of him.
Looking forward to be starting 'The Half Blood Prince', even though i'm quite sad that there are only 2 books left..
